Open Water Side Mount Diver

Basic Side Mount Cave Diver

Advanced Side Mount Cave Diver

Survey and Cartography

The Side Mount is the "new configuration", suitable for all divers and adaptable to all types of diving; it is fully redundant, and its greatest strength is the complete self-sufficiency of the diver.

It offers many advantages in terms of comfort, safety and logistics.

Makes its appearance in the '60s thanks to Mike Boone, a British caver, who first used this configuration to overcome traps in flooded caves, gradually replacing the closed-circuit apparatus hitherto used for the benefits of size and the increasing availability of modern regulators. The dimensions of the cylinder depended on the length of the flooded sections of the caves.

Was in the late '70s that Woody Jasper, from United States, began to look at this system as the solution for the exploration of smaller underwater caves, where the normal equipment does not allow the passage.

Jasper's solutions and techniques are still used and have become standard for many educational diving associations.

It is possible to undertake the Cave Diver training from the beginning with side-mount equipment after the appropriate training.
